night riding

last night andy took me night riding. he let me borrow one of his lights, a helmet mount, 10w bulb. it was awesome. the trails become something completely new. i picked lines, i like to flatter myself into thinking, i wouldn't even consider during the day. trees take on a whole new meaning, shadows dart across the trail. the trail itself appears and disappears at will. we rode one whole lap (minus most blacks) in the standard direction, with the intention of riding another backwards afterwards. sadly my light puttered out at the end of the first. my elbow was hurting a bit, so we called it a night and packed it in.

verdict: i need a light system!
